NV Academic Content Standards and Grading

Understanding the report card

Grades are still being collected and since it is end-of-the mastery, your child has time to work hard to meet all standards by the end of the year. The report cards that come home may be difficult to understand. Use the following guide to help you read and understand your child's report card.

Please keep in mind that your child's progress reports and Semester 1 report card are just a snapshot of how they are doing on mastering the Nevada Academic Content Standards. The report card at the end of the year will be the final official record of how your child did mastering the standards for their grade level. Therefore, with your support and the teacher's continuous reteaching, your child has ample time to reach all standards and expectations for the school year. Your support is extremely important and appreciated. If you have any questions on how to help your child at home, please contact your child's teacher and/or come in to the school at any time.

Set educational goals

The middle of the school year is a great time for families to check in with students on goals. Setting academic and personal goals helps motivate, energize, and focus students, and it is a valuable skill that will benefit learners throughout their lives. The documents below will help you assist your child set and achieve goals.
